This is a heavy-duty shovel. The head is heavy-gauge steel with an extended shank, fitted to an aluminum handle for excellent strength and durability. The blade (9" wide by 12" long) is sharply pointed for quickly cutting into hard-packed soil. It has ribbed steps that are larger and higher set than traditional steps and offset from the shaft, providing a wider surface with better foot registration.
Despite its robust construction, the shovel feels light in use. Standing 45" tall overall, it has a comfortable D-handle with a rubberized grip.
